An exciting experimental experience introducing its participants to the day-to-day life in Biblical times.
Below is a list of Biblical programs offered from which to choose:
"He lays me down in green pastures" (Psalms 23:2)
Herd grazing and shepherding as done by Abraham, Moses and David
"A land flowing with milk and honey" (Exodus 3:8) – Early cheese making
The production of cheese, baked goods and hot drinks as done by our ancestors.
Participants will enjoy a light snack
"You shall draw out water with joy" (Isaiah 12:3)
We will follow in the footsteps of the challenges presented by water in the ancient Land of Israel and will draw water from a well, from a water wheel and an Archimedean screw (screw pump).
"She seeks wool and flax" (Proverbs 31:13)
We will visit "Betzal'el" in Neot Kedumim – the Center for Ancient Crafts:
Pottery, with which we will prepare candle holders (60 minutes)
Torah Scribe – Writing with a quill pen (60 minutes)
Weaving (60 minutes)
Minting coins (60 minutes)
He brings forth bread from the earth – "Making the face brighter than oil" (Psalms 104:15)
Grain, Vine and Oil
Cooking as it used to be done – a workshop involving all of the senses.
We will cook outdoors using only supplies from Biblical times.
- Participants will eat lunch which they prepare themselves.
Optional lengths of workshop – 3 hours / 4.5 hours / 6 hours
